Our beginning
The work
came first.
Volfpack began in 2022, when Sri Lanka’s power crisis made the consequences of unreliable electricity part of daily life.
Charlie Karunaratne and Maithri Dissanayake brought together product engineering and carbon-materials research to explore how that knowledge could become useful energy-storage technology.
The early work relied on borrowed laboratory access and careful experimentation. The team tested materials, formulations and methods before establishing its own cell-development process.
That experience shaped a practical approach: understand the variables, build what can be tested and use the result to decide the next step.

Sri Lanka contributes carbon materials and scientific talent to global industries. Volfpack’s ambition is to build more of the finished technology and manufacturing knowledge here.
We are developing that capability close to the engineers and operating conditions that can help shape it, with Sri Lanka as the first learning environment and South Asia as the initial regional focus.
