Hello Wonderful People,

Welcome to the wild ride of Volfpack Energy! Its been an up and down roller coaster as we tackle the beast of manufacturing supercapacitors. We have been knee deep in experimentation, tweaking everything from carbon materials and electrolytes to binders and beyond. Sourcing in Sri Lanka? A challenge, to say the least. Battery making materials are cutting edge and rare here, so we have had to balance local availability with imports. Luckily, India is stepping up its game, giving us more options to play with.

Brainiacs and Breakthroughs

In January, we were lucky to be visited by Professor Nihal Kularatne from the University of Waikato. He dropped some serious knowledge on electrical applications, lighting up our path forward. We are also teaming up with Professor Dulsha Kularatne from the University of Auckland.

Both are supercapacitor wizards, and their insights into new applications have us buzzing with ideas.

Meanwhile, thanks to Professor Dhayalan Velauthapilla the University of Western Norway of Applied Sciences is in our corner, exploring next level materials. One of their scientists is working side by side with us right at this moment, and the learning goes both ways. We are open to researchers joining us too!

We love sharing what we know, from technical know-how to marketing, business strategies, and problem solving, all while building industry partnerships. If you are a researcher looking to dive into supercapacitors, energy storage, materials science, electrical engineering, or related fields, let’s talk.

Failing Fast, Winning Big

Our production is leveling up fast. Sure, we have stumbled plenty, but every failure fuels a lesson, and those lessons are stacking into serious performance gains. Are we experts yet? Not even close, maybe 5% of the way there if we are being generous. As Ray Dalio puts it, "What we don't know will always be greater than what we know." But we are hungry, and we are learning at lightning speed.

Sri Lankan Talent Shines Globally Brain drain? More like brain gain for us. Sri Lankan scientists are rocking the battery world in Australia, China, South Korea, Norway, the UK, Canada, and the USA. They have been incredibly generous with their expertise, and their support has been a game changer for Volfpack. We are so grateful.

Milestones That Matter Big news: our patents have provisional approval in the USA! It is a proud moment, but we are not stopping there. Our formula and product will only get better. Right now, we are targeting IoT device developers, testing our supercapacitors with three Sri Lankan companies. We also have around seven enthusiastic entrepreneurial students from across the country working with us on separate projects, testing use cases. They are super committed, and their energy is infectious. Real world use cases, real world progress.

Team Volfpack

I am beyond blessed with this crew. We are a DIY powerhouse, handling everything from factory fixes to electrical wiring and carpentry. Sri Lanka’s talent pool is unreal, and we are tapping it to the fullest. This is not just about cost savings, though that is a perk. It means we truly understand how things work. When our machines break (and they do, because we are hammering them hard), our team knows how to fix them and make them better. That hands-on grit keeps us agile and innovative.

The Road Ahead

This is a technical tightrope, no doubt. But once we nail it, the market is wide open. Hardware is brutal, but that complexity is our moat, keeping us ahead of the pack. We live and breathe continuous improvement, and every step makes us sharper. Sharing knowledge and building bridges with researchers and industry partners? That is how we will power the future together.

Thanks for riding with us! Stay tuned, because Volfpack Energy is just getting started. Got thoughts or ideas? We would love to hear from you.

Powering Onward,

The Volfpack Energy Team

P.S. If you know anyone working in IoT who might be a good fit to collaborate with us, we would love an introduction!
